Reaction to fire classification B,s1-d0. With Isotex you can build any building envisaged by the RTV13
Isotex has obtained the B,s1-d0 fire reaction classification for both blocks with insulation (no. 5242/RC/11 of 2011 ) and blocks without insulation (no. 4531/RC/07 of 2007 ) at the recognised ITC-CNR Laboratory.
This type of classification allows use of the Isotex wood cement building system for any type of building envisaged in the new RTV 13 updated in July 2022.
Facade fire regulations. In Europe and in Italy
After the tragic fire in London in 2017, member states of the European Union began to regulate the fire behaviour of building facades. Isotex Srl exports to over 14 countries and immediately adapted.
In Italy, a first regulation was introduced with the Technical Guide “Fire safety requirements for the facades of civil buildings”, Ministerial Decree 25.01.2019, with voluntary application and for buildings over 12 meters in height. But it is with the Vertical Technical Rule RTV13 of 2022 that a specific regulation was introduced for the first time, with the concept of closing the building environment, i.e. roofs and facades. The enclosures are divided into 3 different classes according to the number of floors and the degree of crowding: SA – SB – SC.
With the Isotex wood cement building system, any building planned by RTV13 can be built.
The SA class includes building complexes under 12 metres, residential buildings, gyms with less than 300 occupants, small industries with less than 300 occupants and small schools/kindergartens (always with less than 300 occupants). There is no reaction to fire classification for facades in this class.

Building Complex 2 floors – Example class SA building
The SB Class includes buildings/building complexes under 24 metres, large industrial buildings, shopping centres and schools/kindergartens with more than 300 occupants. Here it is necessary to use materials with a fire rating of B-s2,d0.

7-storey buildings – Example of class SB building
Class SC covers hospitals, treatment centres, towers/buildings above 24 metres. Class SC covers hospitals, treatment centres, towers/buildings above 24 metres. In buildings with this class, for wall coverings, for internal partitions and for suspended walls, materials must be used that fall within the classification B-s1,d0.
