EPD certification

Isotex has been EPD Type III certified. Maximum transparency on the environmental impacts of each individual product

epd international system isotex

Isotex places green and sustainable building at the centre of its corporate philosophy.

These include the important Environmental Product Declaration (EPD type III) and related FDES for products sold in France. The type III EPD environmental label – compliant with the UNI EN 15804 and ISO 14025 standards – is an information document that transparently communicates the environmental impacts of a product. Assessment that is made based on the so-called life cycle of a product (Life Cycle Assessment – LCA).

Isotex has thus become the first European manufacturer of wood and concrete to certify its entire range of products with a specific EPD for each individual product. All validated by an independent third party.

What is EPD/FDES certification?

The EPD is a tool designed to improve environmental communication between producers, distributors and consumers through objective, comparable and credible information. It plays an important role in public procurement, in fact, it guarantees the environmental information of the products covered by the tender.

EPD/FDES certification has the objective of providing in a transparent manner details of the environmental impacts associated with the analysed product and are verified by an independent third party (Type III Declaration – ISO 14025). In addition, for the leading blocks in the range, namely HDIII 38/14 graphite and HDIII 44/20 graphite and HDIII 38/14 with cork insulation, Isotex has created FDES, verified by an accredited AFNOR and are available in the INIES Base and on Eco-platform. The obligation to verify the FDES by an independent third party body came into effect (in France) on 1 July 2017

The EPD and FDES testify to Isotex’s strong will to contribute to the construction of a building that is increasingly in harmony with the environment. And healthy and safe construction for people.
