“Don Antonio Pifferi” School: constructed with the Isotex wood cement building system

Construction of the Don Antonio Pifferi Primary School in Pigneto, in the mountains of Modena, is complete. A technologically advanced space, a multi-functional place surrounded by greenery, where children can learn and be outdoors. A much-anticipated school demanded by the population. The school centre covers 600 square metres and houses five primary school classes, a classroom for kindergarten, a large atrium for various activities, workshops and a canteen. The classrooms all have large windows, directly overlooking the outdoor garden, each with an independent entrance. The interior was frescoed by local artist Chiara Bonini.

For the construction of the school, the Isotex wood cement building system consisting of blocks and floors was chosen. Chosen because it can comply with all the parameters and requirements required for the construction of public school buildings and in compliance with the most stringent requirements related to the PNRR. The construction of schools, in fact, is regulated by a series of regulations: fire prevention code, NTC 2018, Vertical Technical Regulation RTV13 and RTV7, UNI 11532-2 and UNI 11367 for the acoustic aspect and sustainability with compliance with MEC requirements. Added to this are the DNSH principles and the 20% improvement in energy efficiency compared to the NZEB parameters, requirements introduced to access PNRR funding for school buildings.

For the Don Antonio Pifferi school, two types of products were used: the HDII 44/20 formwork block with graphite for the external walls and the HB 25/16 formwork block for the internal walls.
