Case history demolition and reconstruction with the Isotex building system, how does it work?

In this case study, we will talk about the demolition of a building a few kilometres from Venice, where a reconstruction of a brand new apartment block with the Isotex building system was carried out to replace the old tobacco factory from the 1960s. We present to you, Building “T”.

Demolition and reconstruction began in June 2021. The Isotex building system, consisting of wood cement formwork blocks and floors, was chosen to guarantee the new building all the necessary characteristics in terms of energy efficiency, anti-seismic safety, sustainability and living comfort. At the same time, it was selected to ensure the construction company a prompt delivery of materials and access to the incentives of the Super bonus 110 within the timeframes required by the Recovery Decree, installation speed, less workers on site and resulting cost reduction.

For the perimeter walls of the building, the HDIII 38/14 wood cement formwork block with Isotex Green insulation insert (10% recycled) made of Neopor® BMBcertTM by BASF was screened as most suitable for reconstruction: wall thickness 38 cm, continuous insulation thickness 14 cm concrete thickness 15 cm, REI120 fire resistance, 54 dB acoustic insulation and thermal transmittance U = 0.21 W/m²K.

The demolition and reconstruction project in the Province of Venice has brought to light an innovative, modern building, in synergy with the environment and able to meet all market demands. 10 housing units distributed over 5 floors, in various sizes (from mini apartments to accommodation with 2 and 3 bedrooms). The construction of the ISOTEX walls was completed and is now in the coating (plastering) phase. We are proud to say that all the apartments have already been sold!!
