Isotex. The most complete and competitive building system
Isotex construction system consists of formwork blocks and slabs made of mineralised wood and cement. One of its main benefits is that with just one quick and easy laying step, the Isotex building system replaces the beam and pillar structure, infill walling and external cladding: the blocks are filled with concrete and have vertical and horizontal reinforcements and insulation is already inserted inside the formwork block.
This halves the construction time of the structure and, consequently, the costs, reducing the need for labour (no specialised workers needed). The special blocks provide a perfectly homogeneous structure in terms of earthquake resistance, thermal, and acoustic resistance, fire resistance, and respect for environmental sustainability and the principle of circular economy. All these technical characteristics are certified by accredited universities and laboratories, in full compliance with all current regulations.
Building systems compared
The Isotex building system has many advantages compared to other building systems.

Isotex
- 20% more thermal insulation than the previous 3-rib block.
- 45% more load-bearing capacity than the previous 3-rib block.
- 30% savings on gas bills.
- In recent years, Italy has suffered 5 devastating earthquakes: the buildings made with Isotex blocks have not suffered any damage or injury, not even a crack.
- Excellent acoustic insulation that allows to achieve the maximum result obtainable in this field, i.e. Class I.
- Fire resistance attested by REI120 and REI240 certifications. Fire reaction B,s1-D0 and excellent facade fire behavior tested by Lepir2 test.
- Use of natural materials and production process with reduced environmental impact certified by ICEA/ANAB Certification for Green Building, Environmental Product Declaration type III (EPD/FDES) and Indoor Air Comfort GOLD label for very low VOC emissions.
- With a simple and fast laying operation, ISOTEX reduces construction time and costs.
Other building systems
Wooden homes
- The process of making wood structures involves the use of chemical adhesives to assemble the different layers. The final product is not always completely natural and biocompatible.
- The wood is treated with special paints to resist atmospheric agents, moulds and insects: a solution that is not 100% green.
- The wooden structure is light, therefore not very massive, and therefore with low thermal inertia and low sound insulation, aspects that are at the expense of living comfort.
- Wooden structures have poor fire resistance.
Polystyrene blocks
- Polystyrene makes up 100% of the formwork which, in case of fire, burns, emitting gases and substances toxic to human health and the environment.
Aerated concrete blocks
- The walls made of cellular concrete blocks are very light and are characterised by a low thermal inertia and low sound insulation, penalising living comfort.
- Also, the lack of reinforcement in the structure may limit its seismic integrity.
Coat
- Insulation applied to the outside of the wall, therefore vulnerable in case of shocks or hail.
- In some cases, it is difficult to apply coverings the coating.
- There are different qualities of coat at different prices, you have to pay close attention and do due research on the installation in order not to incur unpleasant surprises.
Why choose Isotex
82% of the market in the wood cement sector has chosen us
Our buildings are all over the world
Over 100 employees and agents in Italy and around the world
All the advantages of the Isotex system

Laying speed
Dry laying of blocks and slabs

Reduction of times and costs
Decrease in labour

Earthquake resistant structure
Reinforced concrete frame is avoided

Thermal insulation
The application of external cladding is avoided. The best A4,NZEB and ZEB classifications are achieved.

Thermal inertia
The internal temperature does not change in relation to the change in the external temperature

Acoustic insulation
Additional insulation is avoided. Meets class I requirements

Fire resistance
Wood is mineralised and does not burn (REI 120 - REI 140)

Reaction to fire
B-s1, d0

Facade behaviour to fire
Isotex passes French Lepir2 test

Green building and sustainability
ANAB/ICEA Green Building Certificate, EPD and VOC

Circular economy
ReMade in Italy certificate for insulation inserts up to 100 percent recycled (Neopor® BMBcert from BASF)

Explosion resistance
Isotex building does not collapse
