The sound insulation of buildings is very important from the point of view of living comfort. Acoustic well-being is also among the characteristics of an environment that contribute to determining the satisfaction and comfort of the people who work or live within these environments. The sounds of traffic, the voices of other tenants, the loud noises of production departments can literally pollute the environment and affect silence, rest and privacy.

The building materials with which buildings are constructed play a central role because they can reduce the transmission of sounds from one environment to another. Wood and concrete, the winning combination for sound insulation

The combination of concrete and concrete wood forms the ISOTEX load-bearing wall and is designed to absorb noises at different frequencies. Wood cement is a fibrous material, with exceptional sound absorption capacity. A building created using the ISOTEX wood cement building system offers the possibility of being able to isolate yourself acoustically from low and high frequency noises and live in peace and quiet. Example of an apartment in acoustic class I made with the Isotex building system, where the partitions comply with the legal limits of Prime Ministerial Decree 5-12-1997 on the passive acoustic requirements of buildings. The results are achieved with the correct installation.

The regulations on sound insulation of public and private buildings

Sound insulation can be defined as the ability of a building structure to reduce the sound energy that propagates between two adjacent environments. At the building level, therefore, it includes all those works that can prevent a sound from overcoming a barrier, both in and out.

From a regulatory point of view, sound insulation in Italy is defined by the Presidential Decree of 5 December 1997, which determines the parameters to be measured, the methods for measuring them and the permitted limits beyond which a phenomenon of noise pollution is generated.
